  • The Play 31 Challenge: Schools are encouraged to integrate 31 extra minutes of play into their daily schedules to honor Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

  • Focus on Protection: As public spaces become less accessible, the campaign advocates for the defense of free, unstructured play environments.

  • Nurturing Safety: Efforts are centered on ensuring that play remains safe and supportive, whether in physical neighborhoods or digital online spaces.

  • Global Collaboration: Co-facilitated by UNICEF and UNESCO, the day mobilizes global action to prioritize play-centric policies for children’s long-term resilience and well-being.

Frequently Ask Questions

Sports help children develop confidence, teamwork, discipline, physical fitness, and emotional well-being. Regular play also improves communication skills, leadership qualities, and overall mental health

Many underprivileged children face challenges such as lack of safe playgrounds, expensive sports equipment, financial difficulties, social barriers, and pressure to focus only on academics or work responsibilities.

The right to play is essential because play supports learning, creativity, emotional expression, and healthy growth. Every child deserves equal opportunities to play, explore, and enjoy childhood.

Sports create safer communities, encourage inclusion, reduce stress, improve confidence, and help children stay engaged in positive activities. They also build stronger social connections and life skills.

Abh Khelenge Hum works towards creating access to sports through safe play spaces, sports equipment, mentorship, community engagement, and awareness initiatives focused on children’s right to play.
